The Say Something About Music Thread

I want a place where people can post about music they listen to and want to say something about it. Not necessarily a review or something, just things you associate with it, you feel about it, that it makes you remember.

This is "Tempest" by Somn, a post-black metal band from russia. The intro drum part combined with the melancholic chord shreds immediately struck me when I first heard it. The whole song conveys a pain, a melancholy that no other music I've heard since could, or at least not in this specific way. The unintelligible screams of the singer give me a cathartic feeling. I feel heard and seen in my own pain, someone expresses what is also (maybe in parts) inside of me.

If you ever look for some raw black metal, with a lot of soul and beautiful melodies, as well as fun riffs and no glamourous synths, this is the place. I've only listened like three times, but I feel it's becoming one of my favorite black metal releases. There are lots of jazzy influences, *almost* janky moments and just a whole dang lot to enjoy here. Not sure if a non-metalhead'll like it, the vocals are exclusively far-distantly mixed screams and some growls. But for me, it works very very well. Highly recommend.
