the evil residents?

Post by aurorawho »

i'm currently playing the remake of 4 and it's so good. so far ive 100%ed re2 remake, and im working on the re3 remake as well. i imagine 4 will take me much, much longer haha. still need to go back and play the first one, which id like to do after i finish 4 since i'll be finished with all the ones i currently own.

i also think the style of achievements/challenges are much more fun than a lot of modern games, im actually compelled to complete them so. additionally i miss these kinds of puzzles in games, i despise a lot of puzzles in video games (looking at you, BotW) but the ones in resident evil scratch a certain itch that most games dont.

so far i think 2 is my favorite but damn if 4 isnt good so far

I have never actually played RE4. I do remember really enjoying the RE remake for the gamecube though.

i have not finished re4 remake yet but so far it's very good. its a much more complicated beast than the first 3 games, and i do think it lacks some of the really anxiety-inducing fear that 2 had, but it makes up for it in terms of gameplay and raw "wtf" factor.

i would also like to get some of these on gamecube or ps/ps2 eventually

I have the original RE4 on my shelf, ready to be played - do I need to play the others to understand whats going on??

so you probably need to play 2, but 1+3 are optional for it. i definitely think playing 1+3 gives nice context, they to reference back to stuff that happened in 1 esp, but you will not miss out on the main storyline so much.

keep in mind ofc ive not finished 4, that's just from what ive seen so far, and what a couple people have told me.
